Collectors
- Please Note: No two pieces of Nicholas Mosse are ever exactly alike and this
is what makes it unique and desired around the world. Each piece is hand-thrown,
shaped & painted by different artists, so there are always variations in the
look of every piece, even within the same pattern set. Turn the piece over
and on the bottom of the piece you'll find a little stamp with two or three
initials - these are the initials of the artist who did the painting. You will
see differences from one artist to the next. Some collectors are devoted to
collecting a particular artist. |

The finish and colors of these samples,
as shown on our website, show
approximate colors.
Because of the variation of coloring in digital photographing, and the
varying qualities of computer monitors, you should be
aware that there may be some color variance from these
screen samples to the actual finish sample. We have tried
to eliminate as many variables as possible to try to produce
colors and shades as close to the original as possible. |

Blue Vine
Handmade &
decorated in County Kilkenny, Ireland
A new pattern from Nicholas Mosse Pottery. Blue Vine will be exclusively sold in
the USA for 2007. It is a wonderful combination of a clear, soft sky blue
with overlaid deep blue indigo lacing. The inspiration was the classical vine
motif which has been recreated using a combination of hand-mixed pigments, and
hand-sponged detailing. This is a pattern which will work well on its own or
mixed with other patterns.

Wildflower Meadow
Handmade &
decorated in County Kilkenny, Ireland
Nicholas Mosse wanted to offer
collectors a pattern that combined the existing classic floral patterns with a
newer, contemporary look. The answer was to take a mixture of all our much loved
motifs lay them out into a chintz pattern, i.e., an overall, fluid pattern
loaded with color and life. This is one of our most challenging patterns to
decorate by hand, but we love the result which has all the spontaneity of the
original 18th Century ware but with a very modern feel
